Let’s Get Started …

Here are some steps to help you get started.  I’m happy to walk you through this process,  just get in touch.

Step One:  register a domain name

I recommend registering domains with Namespro. It is good to choose a short brandable name. In most cases, I recommend registering both the .ca and the .com if they are available.

Namespro includes one free email address per domain name. If you require more, plans are available.

Step Two: sign-up for web hosting

WPCloud.ca, WPEngineFlywheel or SiteGround are my top hosting recommendations for WordPress Managed Hosting.  They offer WordPress hosting,  your site will be safer from hacking and faster than with shared hosting. If you need some help, give me a call. I would be happy to help you choose.

I’ll need you to send me the login information for the domain registrar and the hosting company so that I can point the domain to the host. File all this information so you can find it easily when you need it again.

Step Three: Create a Site Map

Create a list of all pages you want to have in your site. Make any notes about special features that you may need to include with those pages.

Step Four: Assemble your images

Put all of your images in a dropbox folder. Images include your logo and any stock images that you have purchased.

Step Five: Assemble your page copy
