Yes Tessa I agree, “A short easy-to-remember domain is highly valued”. I’ve struggled with this with my own domain. dandelionwebdesign.com is too long and people often spell dandelion with a y causing confusion.

I agree with your points. But at the same time good domain name should be easily memorable.

There is a transfer service available from the WPonlineStore Plugin developers. Any custom modules added to osCommerce would not transfer but the standard data would be fine. Just go to AddOns and order the $89 migration service. http://www.wponlinestore.com/store/order/index.php. You’ll need to compare the features you have with what is currently available in the plugin.

If I already have OSCommerce installed in Root directory, and it is loaded with products already, as well as about a dozen custom features that don’t come standard with OSCommerce… can I move my whole OScommerce database over to the one WPonlineStore without losing any of my database or customer features?

I don’t see why you would use a function… but yes a child theme is the way I would do it.

I’ve written a short snippet which is an improvement over this, as it supports date ranges, so all you enter is the start date, and then it will display it as just that year, or that year to the current one if applicable
